The Brazilian midfielder, Tales de Souza, took part in his first training session at the Sporting/Puma Academy on Thursday morning. The workout lasted for around two hours, with the new arrival joining in with him teammates in a session that started in the gymnasium; then making its way to the pitch. Tales de Souza was the media darling of the session, with new goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand absent from Thursday’s two training sessions for personal reasons. The Brazilian midfielder then took a moment to give his first interview with the Lion on his chest. Speaking exclusively with the Sporting Journal and Official site, the player proved happy about being give the chance to represent the Alvalade club: “To be at Sporting is a dream, because it is one of the biggest clubs in Portugal and in Europe and it is a pleasure to be part of this squad. I want to be another player that helps Sporting achieve its objectives and, if I can, then it will be a true pleasure for me. I am still young and it is difficult for me to find words that sufficiently describe how I feel to be here at Sporting. One thing is for sure and that is that I am going to learn a lot with my new teammates. I want to learn with the older players and I want to grow both as a player and as a person.”
