Timo Hildebrand has put pen-to-paper on a season-long contract, while Tales de Souza also arrives on loan from Internacional de Porto Alegre.
The shot-stopper, who is a caped German international, was unattached and arrives to Alvalade at no cost to the Green and Whites. Speaking to the official Sporting site, Hildebrand proved to be very satisfied with being handed the chance to try his luck in Portuguese football. ”I think that Sporting is the right club for me. I was hoping to receive a few proposals, especially because I was unattached, and I am really happy that Sporting is interested in me. This is a great chance to continue showing what I am worth, but in another country. Sporting is one of Europe's most known clubs and it has a long history; it is also the team where stars like Figo and Ronaldo stated out”, expressed the keeper, before promising commitment and quick adaptation to the Portuguese game: “I am going to be playing in a huge team that is playing in the Europa League this year. I want to adapt as quickly as possible, both to the team and to the country. All of this is new for me, but I hope that I get the chance to meet my new team mates as quickly as possible. I am going to give my best to help Sporting.”
