Carvalhal already training the lions
Carlos Carvalhal has taken the helm, for the first time, of a Sporting training session. Only 13 players were in attendance, with the bulk of the others away on international duty. Rui Patrício, Miguel Veloso, Liedson and Moutinho were away with the Portugal senior team, while Daniel Carriço, Adrien Silva and Bruno Pereirinha are with the under-21 side. Vukcevic, Matías Fernandez and Stojkovic are also away on international duty.
Due to an injury to his left thigh, André Marques was following an individual programme in the gymnasium. The highlight of the day, however, was the progress made by Yannick Djaló on his road to recovery; as he made a run out onto the training field. Izmailov, on the other hand, continues to work with medical staff as he recovers from surgery.
For his first training session in Alcochete, Carlos Carvalhal was accompanied by the president of the Board, José Eduardo Bettencourt, and Ricardo Sá Pinto. |
