Lions in the final of the Alto do Moinho Tournament
Courtesy of a victory over Alto do Moinho in the opening game of the four-way Alto do Moinho Tournament, by a margin of 33-22, the Lions now progress to the final (to be played on Thursday at 10:00pm in Seixal), where they will meet the winners of the game between o Sp. da Horta and Belenenses.

In what was yet another fine pre-season performance by Sporting handball, Paulo Faria gave a rest to his main stars; handing starts to some of the youngsters coming through the team’s youth setup. Following an equally balanced first half, marred by a lack of cohesion in both teams (halftime result of14-12), Sporting bettered significantly for the second half and, thanks to some effective work in front of goal and a wealth of decent counter-attacks, walked away with a win by a margin of 11 goals.
