Betinho answered our questions on Sunday. The highly rated striker spoke to us about the NexGen Series and some of his best moments in a green and white shirt.

What does it mean to play for Sporting in Europe?
It means a lot to us. Sporting is a really important club when it comes to training players and it is brilliant to show the rest of Europe just what the Academy is capable of.

Why is the NextGen Series so important?
It gives us better visibility in Europe and can also open doors for us. Obviously we would all love to play in Sporting's first team, so what we do in this competition could potentially be noticed by other clubs and Sporting as well.

What would you say you have already done for Sporting?
I have already scored a lot of goals, which means that I have already given a lot of happy moments to Sporting's fans.

What has been your most memorable moment so far in a Sporting shirt?
I have had a few. One was winning the National Championship and was was the result against Liverpool. The game went really well for me and it promoted me a bit (laughs).

What do the fans mean to the team?
The fans really help us. I hope that continues in the next game too against Inter Milan.

Why is the Sporting/Puma Academy so important?
It gives us the conditions that we need to grow and to get to where we want to be.
