Originally from Oporto, at 11 years of age he traded the “Invicta” city and FC Porto for Lisbon and Sporting CP. along with his brother, Wilson Eduardo. After that he completed his formative years with the lions having won the Portuguese championship for both the under 12 and under 14 categories. He made his debut for the senior team in December 2011 in a Europa League match but only in 2014 did he definitively grab his spot after a half a season’s loan and Vitoria FC.
For the senior team, he won a Portuguese Cup and a Portuguese Supercup and became a permanent feature in thee national team, with whom he won the European Championship in 2016, in France with the world renowned “Aurelios”, so known for the heavy presence of Sporting academy players. He left Alvalade for FC Internazionale in August 2016 representing the clubs’ and Portuguese footballs’ highest fee at the time. After Italy he had spells in England and Russia and now returns to Sporting CP on loan from Inter Milan.
