A wealth of Alvalade stars on international duty
The emotion of Liga NOS will have to be put on the back burner for a week, as Sporting CP's charges go away in international duty with their respective country.
A wealth of players feature in the latest under-21 and senior call ups, with Francisco Geraldes, Daniel Podence and Rúben Semedo all given the green light by Rui Jorge.
Tallying together Sporting CP's loaned players, we find another four included: Carlos Mané (VFB Stuttgart), Tobias Figueiredo (CD Nacional), Iuri Medeiros (Boavista FV) and Domingos Duarte (CF Os Belenenses).
Meanwhile another three feature for the Portuguese senior set up (Rui Patrício, Gelson Martins and William Carvalho) on top of the following for their respective countries:
- Sebastián Coates (Uruguay);
- Joel Campbell (Costa Rica);
- Bryan Ruiz (Costa Rica);
- Bas Dost (Netherlands);
- Fidel Escobar (Panama);
- Jovane Cabral (Cabo Verde);
- Gelson Dala (included by Angola but misses out through injury).
