The player reflects on an excellent week

After an incredible night in Bilbao, with Sporting Clube de Portugal's first team winning 2-3 away at Athletic Club and qualifying directly for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, Pedro Gonçalves talked to the media about the achievement.

In the VIP Hall of the Estádio José Alvalade, accompanied by Morten Hjulmand and João Simões, shortly after returning to Lisbon, he began by mentioning that "the club are making history for Portuguese football. I saw that we've already overtaken the Netherlands in the UEFA ranking, so it's good for everyone".

"This group fights for victory until the last minute. The mentality of the club and the group is to go into every game to win," he stressed.

Regarding his involvement in the Portugal national team and a possible presence at the next World Cup, the Sporting CP player was clear, saying: "It's one of my biggest goals. I've been in previous training camps and in the UEFA Nations League. If I don't have any injuries, I hope to continue to be an option".

About his current form, back after injury, Gonçalves assured that he feels "good".
