National team to face Argentina Argentina, Algeria and Honduras

The national Olympic football team will feature in Group D in Rio 2016, along with Argentina, Algeria and Honduras.

the Portuguese will open on the 4th of August against Argentina in the João Havelange Olympic Stadium, before facing Honduras three days later in the same stadium. On the 10th of August, Portugal will face Algeria in Estádio Mineirão.

Alvalade forward included for Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Alvalade star Islam Slimani will feature for Algeria in two encounters against Ethiopia, as part of his country's Africa Cup of Nations 2017 qualification campaign. The first match will take place in Algeria on the 25th of March, before the return leg in Ethiopia on the 29th of March.

Algeria currently lead qualification group J with six points.

Alvalade forward on target against Guinea-Conakry

Islam Slimani was again on target for Algeria this weekend, striking in a 2-1 loss against Guinea-Conakry.

The Alvalade forward scored after just two minutes with a finish from close range after a cross in from the left. Bangoura grabbed a brace to seal the win for Guinea-Conakry, before Slimani was substituted in the 61st minute for Brahimi.
