Portuguese gymnast looking to bring titles Alvalade

At 29 years of age, Diogo Ganchinho is in the perfect form to join Sporting Clube de Portugal. The Portuguese gymnast has already taken part in two Olympic Games (Beijing 2008 and London 2012) and is now looking to tally up titles at Alvalade.

"It is an honour to represent Sporting CP. I have joined this project and I want to contribute with titles and my experience. I am an athlete that likes to surprise people and I am always looking to do new things", said Ganchinho after penning his deal.

Alvalade club in new partnership with Bounce to open Sporting School

Sporting's gymnastics department took an important step this week, agreeing a partnership with Bounce to open the Bounce Sporting School.

The deal was penned by Alvalade board member Rui Caeiro, signaling the start of two weekly lessons (Tuesdays and Thursdays at 18h00). You can sign up in Alvalade.

Vice-president Vicente Moura on the coming gymnastics season

After an almost unbelievable season that saw 58 Sporting gymnasts win national titles, the time has come to open another athletics season.

Speaking to an Alvalade auditorium packed out by eager athletes, both young and old, vice-president Vicente Moura set out the club's objectives for the coming season: "We had some great sports results and took part in the Olympic Games through Diogo Abreu. I am sure that this will be another good year for us. We had 58 gymnasts win national titles, two of which were in two disciplines. We had 150 athletes in the Eurogym in the Czech Republic as well and we have set a new record for the number of athletes training at the club."

Alvalade pairing on the podium in syncronised event

Diogo Abreu and Pedro Ferreira won the bronze medal in the syncronised event at the European Trampoline Championships this Sunday morning, taking place in the Spanish city of Valladolid.

the Alvalade pair qualified for the final with a fifth place finish in the qualification round, going on to tally 49.700 points to secure the last podium spot.

Meanwhile in the female event, Ana Rente and Beatriz Martins also claimed bronze in the respective syncronised event.
