Clinical Information regarding Carlos Mané

The player Carlos Mané has undergone a procudure for an osteochondral injury.

The procudure was performed at Hospital CUF Descobertas by Dr. Pedro Pessoa and want completed as planned.

The player is expected to be out of action for four to six months.

Wealth of Alvalade faces feature in under-21 Euro 2017 qualifier win

The national under-21 team beat Norway 3-1 in a Euro 2017 qualifier this week, with Alvalade's Rúben Semedo finding the back of the net with a 59th minute header.

Also in action were Sporting CP's Iuri Medeiros (on loan to Boavista), Daniel Podence and Carlos Mané (on loan to Stuttgart), while Domingos Duarte (on loan to Belenenses) and Tobias Figueiredo (on loan to Nacional) were introduced off the bench.

Agreement with VfB Stuttgart for the loan of Carlos Mané

Sporting Clube de Portugal – Futebol, SAD has reached an agreement with VFB Stuttgart for the loan of Carlos Mané until the end of the 2017/18 sports season, with an option for a permanent transfer.

Rui Jorge names squad of 23 for Euro 2017 qualifiers

Rúben Semedo, Gelson Martins, Iuri Medeiros, Carlos Mané, Francisco Geraldes and Tobias Figueiredo all feature in the latest Portuguese under-21 squad list.

Rui Jorge's squad will face Israel (2nd of September) and Greece (6th of September) in a pair of Euro 2017 qualifiers.

Rui Jorge announced his squad list for the football competition in the coming Rio 2016 Olympic Games this week. Three Sporting players feature: Ricardo Esgaio, Carlos Mané and Tobias Figueiredo (who is currently with Nacional da Madeira on loan."

Speaking about the squad, Rui Jorge revealed the difficulties faced in putting together a list: "When we picked 35 players, we did so thinking we could put together an ideal squad for the Olympics. With some clubs saying no, we only got 11 of those 35. That has really limited us."

Portugal will play in Group D, along with Argentina, Honduras and Algeria.

Jefferson and Carlos Mané on Thursday's loss to Bayer Leverkusen

Jefferson was back in the starting line-up this Thursday night following a spell out through injury and it was the Brazilian who had Sporting's best chance of the evening with a first-half effort denied by Leno. Speaking at the final whistle, the wing-back accepted that his side were lacking in front of goal, but affirmed that there is still everything to play for next week in the reverse fixture.

"It was a good game and we fought until the final whistle, but we didn't get the result we wanted. Nothing is over yet. They came here and got a good result, but we can do the same thing and go to Germany and win", said Jefferson.

Carlos Mané also gave his backing to Sporting's chances in Germany next week. "It was a good game between two of the best teams in the Europa League. We didn't deserve this result, but we will try and turn it around in the second-leg. It was a hard match with not that many chances. We have a great team and we have comeback a lot of times before, which is what we want to do in Leverkusen", noted the Alvalade youngster."

- William: twisted left ankle (in the Sporting-Benfica match);

- Bruno Paulista: Contusion to the right thigh;

- Jefferson: myalgia in the left thigh;

- Carlos Mané: twisted left foot (suffered with the national under-21 team);

- Teo Gutiérrez: pubic osteitis

Rui Jorge has included a total of five Sporting players in his squad for the coming under-21 European Championship qualifiers against Albania on the 12th of November and Israel on the 17th.

Tobias Figueiredo, Carlos Mané, Gelson Martins, Ruben Semedo and Iuri Medeiros (who has spent the last two seasons out on loan with V. Setúbal and Moreirense) are the five included in the squad of 23.
